Meet Your Teacher: Carson Kane
I hold a Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from The Ohio State University (USA). I am also fully TEFL-certified through Máximo Nivel.
I don't teach from insanely boring textbook exercises or subject you to repetitive grammar translation. Having lived in Spain, where I became certified in Spanish by the Instituto Cervantes (with C1 operational fluency) and achieved a B2 in Catalan, and now living in Berlin where I study German (B1), I understand the cognitive struggle of adult language learning from the inside out.
My lessons are based on research in linguistics and communicative language teaching with lots of high-output conversation. I am active in both academia and many Berlin startup companies. I work closely with IT professionals, founders, and various specialists who need to present ideas, have discussions, and communicate in English with precision. In my free time, I like to play acoustic guitar, travel, meet people, and learn languages.
